Hello and welcome everyone! This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness with a fun new feature post for TLC Designs! Beginning this month I will be showcasing there different product, in three different ways, on the third of each month! 3-3-3! This month is a Christmas in July theme so here are my selections:
These three products are so much fun to create with, with so many different options! The Snow Buddies images are adorable and since they are digital can be sized to suit whatever your project is! The Zinnia Slimline dies are a must have as they add a touch of elegance to any project. The Snowy Skies papers are some of my favorite winter paper to create with EVER!!
My projects today feature a slimline card, an A2 card and a mini-slimline size postcard style card! Each project uses an element from each of this month's three products as well.
The slimline card uses 2 different pieces of the Snowy Skies pattern paper to create my scene. I die cut the largest die in teh Zinnia Slimline dies out of each, and then used a craft knife on the purple to cut my hill. I had actually printed my Snow Buddies images and sentiment ON my purple when prepping my digitals, love when I am able to do that! I colored in the images with my Copic markers.
Speaking of Copic markers, I used the same color palette of Comics for all three cards today. I like doing this when I am trying to create a "set of cards" that are not identical. Staying in the same color ways helps them look cohesive at the end! If you are curious what colors I used, I snapped a picture. C0 and C1 are the Ciao markers pictured.
Next is the A2 card. I printed my Snow Buddies images and sentiment onto the blue pattern paper in the Snowy Skies pack and diecut it out with the smallest die in the Zinnia Slimline die set. I cut a second piece of pink pattern paper with the same die and cut it down the center lengthwise with my paper trimmer. This allowed me to add a symmetrical border onto the sides of my focal panel. I used some ribbon from my stash and wrapped it around a A2 sized panel of patterned paper and tied a bow with the black ribbon. I mounted the diecut panel with my image to the side and trimmed off the excess from the top and bottom of the card.
My last project is a twist on an infinity shaker card. I die cut the top panel with the decorative die from the Zinnia Slimline die set and set it aside. then I cut a panel of the green pattern cardstock to approximately the same width as the decorative one. I slid that into a clear cellophane bag and added in some shaker embellishments from my stash. I sealed the cellophane bag around the cardstock piece with double sided tape. Next I die cut the largest shadow die and layer both the panels on it and centered them where I wanted them. Last step was to trim the excess from around the square panel to match. I like the different shape it gave!
I love stretching my supplies and getting the most I can out of them! Don't you?!? If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see me create with text month, let me know below!!
