Hello my crafty friends. My name is Shannon and I’m so happy to be here with you on the TLC Designs blog. I hope you’re enjoying the spring weather. I know I am.

If you’ve read any of my recent posts, you know that I am a new fan of digi stamps.  They are so much fun! You can print them individually or create an entire one-layer scene with them. If you haven’t tried digital stamps, I highly recommend them.  The design possibilities are endless and their price point is unbeatable.

Now, on to the card. I started by inserting a rectangle shape onto a new MS Word document.  I changed the size to be 3.75” x 8”. Then I copied the ground png file from the Seahorse Samm digi stamp set, and pasted it onto the rectangle shape in MS Word. The I stretched it from one end of the rectangle to the other.  I’m using the ground as a sandy beach with an ocean in the background.

In addition, I copied and pasted the rest of the images from the Hula Hello digi stamp set.  This set includes super cute sentiments along with the hula dancers, a boy playing a ukulele, a totem pole,  tropical flowers and leaves, and a pineapple.

After resizing the images, I printed the document onto Hammermill smooth white 100# Cardstock. Then I colored images with Ohuhu alcohol markers. I’ve included all of the color combinations I used at the end of this post.

Do you know what it means when a girl wears a flower in her hair? If she wears in on the right side she is single.  If she wears it on the left side it means she’s in a relationship. This is a fun custom that has no roots in Hawaiian culture, according to the internet.

The finishing touches on that card include some die cuts from the Aztec Sunshine Circle Die set including: the sunshine, clouds and birds.  I’ve also included some sparkle with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen.  Then I glued the panel to a 3 7/8”x8 3/8” pieces of white 100# cardstock. Then glued that panel to a 4”x8 ½” piece of black 100# cardstock, and adhered the final product to a card base measuring the same size.

That’s it.  I hope this inspires you to create cards of your own with digi stamps by TLC Designs.  The “Hula Hello” digi set is currently on sale for $4.50.
